general personality ::
When you first meet her Jun isn’t exactly the most welcoming soul. She’s automatically wary of anyone that so much as looks at her and has a difficult time letting herself relax around others. Her sarcasm can become quite harsh, though it can vary depending on the person. She pushes people away with sharp comments to remain detached from them, though her attempts can be quite childish. Jun’s answer to just about every problem is to run. If it can’t catch up with her, she won’t have to deal with it. At least that’s how she sees things.
Beneath this ‘tough’ exterior however Jun craves human interaction. She just doesn’t know how to connect with people and, instead of learning how to deal with it, she simply avoids it. She becomes so frustrated and flustered with herself she figures not to even bother when it never works out. She’s impatient with the world, people and above all else herself. If you do manage to somehow get to know Jun, you’ll find she’s incredibly loyal – not to mention stubborn. She doesn’t seem to entirely understand the saying ‘look before you leap’ and has gotten herself into even more trouble just by rushing into a situation
Jun has a blunt way saying things. She doesn’t mean to insult people (unless indicated otherwise), it’s just her way of observation. She’s been known to hold grudges as well and can be quite bitter to anyone that has wronged her in the past. Forgiving isn’t one of her strong points.
Jun’s way with words are obviously… unrefined. She’s blunt and straight to the point, to put it simply. She doesn’t intend to come off as insulting (unless insinuated otherwise..), it’s just the way she’s gotten used to speaking. Her lackluster history with certain people has left her bitter however, and holding a grudge isn’t something foreign to her.
other informative facts :: she prefers to call people by a nickname rather then their full name. The sources and meanings behind them can vary – either being derived from the person’s first name or maybe psychical feature they have. The closer the person is to Jun the more… flattering the nickname tends to be.

history ::
- Masami Yu gives birth to Jun. Both parents are surprised to find that their child is born female. Zhou, having expected to have another son and, views his daughter as a mistake.
- by the age of three Jun unintentionally discovers her powers by climbing up the wall. Her mother and father are mortified when they find their daughter crawling in circles on the side of the house. They force her to stay within the house until she understands she can’t climb anything she wishes to.
- shortly after Jun turns nine her younger brother, Bo, is born. her father’s business requires him to move to America for sometime and he decides to bring the family with him. They plan on staying with Jun’s older brother in New York while across the seas. Upon arrival the family is quickly situated in Chao’s home. Jun starts homeschooling as her parents don’t want to take the risk of people seeing her ability.
- with her parents busy with the new baby, Jun spends much of her time with her older brother. They share a lot in common despite their age difference and get along well. Their father disapproves of their growing friendship, wanting his son to work on finding a wife and job instead of wasting time with Jun. Chao ignores his father’s wishes and - behind his back - helps Jun explore the use of her power.
- by the time Jun is twelve her father announces that they can return to Japan again. Jun isn’t willing to leave her brother however, after all that he’s done for her, and refuses to go. Zhou becomes furious and slaps his daughter, only to be intervened by Chao. Her older brother helps her up and out of the house.
- Chao takes Jun for a drive around the city, eventually explaining to her the real reason why her parents came here in the first place. They had heard about a place called Shadowland, where people with all different types of powers and abilities resided. They were planning on taking her there when they figured she was old enough and had been ready to drop her off there before they went back to Japan. Jun is horrified and her brother turns to apologize, having just only found out himself when they’re struck from the side. As the two cars collide everything goes black.
- Jun awakens to find her self curled up next to a fire. Confused she looks around to find her brother, only to find an elderly woman near by instead. She smiles and beckons Jun to stay. Wary and but tired, Jun complies and asks the woman what happened. The woman tells Jun that she had found her passed out on the street near by. Jun, still confused, asks where they are. The old woman’s smile grows and she answers, Shadowland.
- Jun finds that she cannot remember anything that happened after the crash and is horrified and almost over come with grief at the thought of never seeing her brother again. She has only small bits of memories of the crash, many if not all of which she thinks are fake, ideas that she's conjured up to help her imagine the out come of things. Jun has never stopped thinking about it.
- wishing to return the favor of kindness to the old woman Jun turned to the only thing she knew how to do – steal and run. It was not something she liked or was even good at, but Jun felt that she had to repay the old woman somehow. They stayed with one another for five years until the old woman passed away from the flu. Jun has been on her own in Shadowland ever since.

It was supposed to be an in and out deal. No one would see her. They’d be too busy checking out their own finds rather then attention to the person next to them. They would never give a t-shirt disappearing off the table a second though – they were vanishing and reappearing every few seconds. People would be too focused on their own finds; it’s the only way you found anything worthwhile. Usually.
Of course as luck would have it, she’d been spotted. How in the hell they knew the t-shirt hadn’t been paid for was beyond her. Maybe it was that freaky manager’s money radar going off or whatever. Something was telling her she wouldn’t be running by that little shop any time again soon…
Speaking of running.
“S’cuse me!” A couple gave an indignant yell as she rushed past between them, but that wasn’t anything new. Truthfully it was more of a comfort. It reassured her that she was in fact still moving and that wasn’t her crying out in alarm. There were more yells behind her, coming from both the pedestrians she’d rushed by seconds ago and her pursuers. Well snicket - when did they catch up? She was running at just about full force here and they were still behind her?
Gritting her teeth, the young woman willed her legs to stiffen, her to knees bend and then spring-! The edge of the large building was in sight and then she could see the other side of it, moving past her and then she was running along side it… Yes! She made it. The sounds of people colliding with street signs and into innocent walker-bys were enough to tell her that taking that sharp corner was a good move. She couldn’t suppress the urge to grin, even though her conscious was loudly reprimanding her for even taking pride in the fact she’d gotten away with stealing.
The corners of her mouth lowered again into a concentrated frown. She could still hear hurried footsteps behind her. Damn these guys were persistent. And just over one t-shirt? Geez, she hadn’t come across shopkeepers this persistent for awhile… Not much a choice then.
Stuffing the cotton t-shirt under her belt, Jun lowered herself further to the ground, ignoring the burning sensation that came with every breath as she willed herself to go even faster. She didn’t need a lot of speed to do this, but the more distance she put herself between these guys the better. Her hands were clamped into fists at her sides, adrenaline dulling the pain of her fingernails digging into her palms. She could do this, she could do this… Just throw out your hands and…
The street was a blur as she reached the sidewalk, her knees bending again but she was pushing her self up rather then to the side. Her arms sprang out in front of her and while she hadn’t made any contact yet she knew the feel, the texture and where to grip the wall. It was like an itch rushing over her hands, up her finger tips and all the way to her elbows. She knew, and she thought by know she’d be used to it.
She never was.
A gasp was the only sound that escaped her as her hands slapped against the wall before Jun felt her self scrambling up. Her heart was pounding and she could feel her feet slipping – though if they were aching from the running or from the same tingling sensation as her hands Jun couldn’t tell. Not that she was going to give that much thought. She needed to keep moving. Letting out a ragged breath she let one hand go from the wall, only to smack it back down just as quickly. She repeated this with the other hand, feet pushing franticly against the dirty brick.
The climb was going by in a blur, her ears barely comprehending the angry yells below her. They were growing fainter now though and the roof was in reach. At this she could feel the sensation in her hands diminish slightly. Almost there…! It was only after she was done heaving herself over the edge that Jun noticed her hands weren’t tingling anymore. Opening and closing them, the small teen let out a breath, willing her heart to calm down as she fell to her knees. She could afford to rest a few minutes. For now.
