here on shadowland we have three divisions or 'factions'. each has their own unique attributes and are not limited to a certain type of character (like royals for vampires only or some crap like that). this thread is for the soul purpose of explaining what these factions are like so you can make a better educated decision on where to put your character.
STRAYS
the strays are the lowest of society in shadowland. few impartials want to have anything to do with them and royals pretty much never interact with them. it's generally accepted that strays are dirt poor and live in slums, but there are some strays that are quite well off. strays have no set personality, generally they're too unmotivated to work their way up in the factions or they're afraid to.
IMPARTIALS
impartials are those who have no place in the royals or the strays. and while they aren't always rich or poor, it is possible to know a wealthy or broke impartial. generally they're considered the 'middle class' of society. impartials mix with both royals and strays, but mainly royals. the higher end of the impartials are those that are either not rich enough or snobby enough to be royals. the gap between impartials and strays is pretty large, there are few similarities between the two.
ROYALS
everyone knows who they are. everyone wants to be them. and everyone wants to be their friends. royals are the highest end of society that you can get. they are rich and have a credibility that most would kill for. when a royal throws a party, everyone comes. it is rare to see a royal and stray interacting, but an accepted thing to see royals and impartials together. when you're a royal everyone hangs on your every word, as if you could change the world with one phrase.
